I won't go into specifics, so as not to appear commercially selfish on your delightful and dear blog. But as I was laying the foundation for my business, I asked Jon Gorham at Tasty and Sons the same question I've asked many of Portland's incredible chef/owners, "where are your favorite spots?" Without hesitation, first words: "Little Red Bike Cafe." I subsequently made the drive up there from Lake Oswego, where I met #PortlandCabbie, to exchange business ideas. He blogged about your place, I tweeted. Since then when I've been asked about hidden gems for breakfast, I don't have to think much (which of course is one of my main goals in life).

Just posted your blog in my Portland Food Adventures FB page and Twitter. Ok, I am guilty, but that wasn't the point... I wish you all the best, and can't wait to hear where your adventure leads you next. Your hearts are strong and wonderful, and tasted with delight both through your kitchen and your keyboard. Your passion will take you to wonderful places. That much I can taste.Chrishttp://www.portlandfoodadventures.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5269295347248537302.post-84890726123411383812010-06-10T09:41:35.685-07:002010-06-10T09:41:35.685-07:00Hi, I don't follow your blog as much as I shou...Hi, I don't follow your blog as much as I should, but I love LRBC. I have introduced so many of my friends from other states and countries to the delightful food and drink at the LRBC. I am currently traveling out of the country until September 2nd and my heart is breaking when I realize I might not get to taste a Messenger Sandwich again! I hope and pray (I'll even light a candle for you in Rome, where I am currently!) that you will find a new and better place to re-open soon!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13049487399710955054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5269295347248537302.post-44380980244403265512010-06-02T23:28:54.296-07:002010-06-02T23:28:54.296-07:00Kati,

Haven't been by in awhile, as I was participating in a one-man boycott since you no longer served one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life: eggwich dressed with mmmmanchego, olive tepanade, red peppers, prosciutto & sprinkled to perfection with oregano. Yes please, all the time please. Drooling now. Damn that Rudywich for being so good. In any case, stopped in recently, hoping Rudy may be back & learned of the bad news. Tear. Will have to eat much LRBC in the coming weeks.

Sincerely hope you find a new home, preferably in the hood, so my hope can be restored for another taste, even a morsel, of the best eggwich, EVER.

LRBC food cart in SJ...? Let's visualize round 2 of Evan&Ali'sLRBC - like it is already here (that's the key; a "mental equivalent" of what you two want to manifest, see it, smell it, taste it whatever "it" is, and let those thoughts and visions fly free. I will sit close by smiling and cheering and watch the doors open. Life is truly an adventure. You make me feel known and loved. I thank you for all the wonderful meals, laughs, smiles. and friendship. Why should we as a community let this happen to anyone ever again? There will be another tenant after you and what's to keep them from being treated the same way?

North Portland needs businesses like yours and the neighborhood suffers when behavior like this is allowed to continue. This landlord should know how much support you have and how much your customers, many of whom are probably her customers too, do not support these kind of tactics.

It's not about revenge, it's about setting standards as a community.Maesiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08327223085240141233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5269295347248537302.post-7605334472625370132010-05-26T17:39:25.633-07:002010-05-26T17:39:25.633-07:00I will start writing my novel now...you may need a...I will start writing my novel now...you may need a bigger bird house.

PS...nicely done, Kyle!Mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00246095689751201469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5269295347248537302.post-34428832361391128302010-05-26T16:28:53.143-07:002010-05-26T16:28:53.143-07:00Kyle introduced me to your cafe about a year ago a...Kyle introduced me to your cafe about a year ago and I must say you really do serve some of the best breakfast I have had here in Portland. You also make the best iced mochas! Unfortunately, living in Southeast, I don't get out that way very often so I have stayed pretty on top of your blog (it happens to be listed in my favorites). I swear I can almost taste the food with the wonderful pictures you post. I am glad I had the opportunity to come visit the cafe this weekend and buy a jar of apple butter, which I am trying really hard to not devour in one sitting knowing that you will be closing soon and I need to make it last. My mom is coming to visit me this summer and requested a trip to the Little Red Bike Cafe for a VLT because she "absolutely loves that place" after only eating there once last summer when she visited. This may not seem like a big deal, but my mom can never remember the names of restaurants, or a specific dish for that matter, unless it is somewhere she repeatedly eats. She was very sad to hear about the closing as was I when I first read about it on your blog. Kudos for being so strong and continuing to serve great dishes with warm smiles at this emotional time. I hope that you are able to continue your business at a different location in NoPo and if not I'm sure southeast would welcome you too ;)Justinanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5269295347248537302.post-82977770422079050552010-05-26T15:03:37.620-07:002010-05-26T15:03:37.620-07:00Hanna and her folks and sister will never forget y...Hanna and her folks and sister will never forget you guys.
