Presenting...DAIRY-FREE FRIDAYS!!!
Evan: Hey, those sure are beautiful plums, Ali. Where did you get them?
Me: Oh, these plums? These came from a nice woman who has an Italian plum tree in her backyard. She offered them us in trade for soy lattes.
Evan: Wow! That sure sounds like a deal. What are you going to do with them?
Me: Well Evan, I'm glad you asked. I'm actually going to make Coconut-Plum ice cream infused with cinnamon as our dairy-free flavor tomorrow.
Evan: Coconut-Plum ice cream? That sounds amazing!
Me: It sure does.
Evan: Hey Ali, can only vegans enjoy this ice cream?
Me: No way, Dairy-Free Fridays are for Everybody!!!
That's right folks, Evan and I are planning on churning one vegan flavor each Friday (gasp!) as part of our Dairy-Free Fridays. Lactose-Lovers take comfort- we are not eliminating your favorite creamy concoctions. Friday's flavors will also include all of your favorite lactose-inflicted flavors. This weeks flavors include:
Strawberry-Sour Cream, Peanut-Butter-Chocolate-Chocolate-Chip, and Courier Coffee.
So come on down to the Little Red Bike Cafe to celebrate Dairy-Free Fridays and our newly installed Bike-Thru window. Bring your vegan friend; bring your strawberry-lovin' Grandma; bring your peanut-butter obsessed nephew. Evan and I will be there waiting for you...

Great addition to the blog - who took that supah photo of the 2 of you? See you bright and early on Saturday - hopefully there will still be some frozen delights available for me to sample.
ReplyDeleteHey, I know that nice woman who gave you the plums - she'sa good friend of mine and gave me a bag of plums too! I am thinking of making some plum/vin santo sorbet with mine!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, coming in for breakfast for the first time on Saturday - can't wait!
Woohoo! I just heard about your place on my mom's group email list. After a really sad scene with my non-dairy kids at a cafe this AM, I'm super excited about this news! I really hope you consider have a dairy-free option every day. And while you're at it, if you could do rice crispy treats that are gluten-free, or any other gluten-free sweet, you'll be our new favorite coffee shop.
ReplyDeleteThe Plum Coconut Cinnamon infusion was epic! And the absence of dairy was definitely a huge bonus.
ReplyDeleteSee you in the morning.
