All Grown Up

The little girl you see pictured above is having a birthday tomorrow. She looks a wee bit different now, than she did when the picture was taken. You know her as the creator of this blog. To me she is a writer, chef, photographer, comedian, artist, dancer, partner, best friend, and love of my life.

Feel free to leave her a happy birthday wish by adding a 'comment' below.

Happy Birthday, Ali!!!
You brought me a piece of the cake at your cafe when I had my B-day last year. It's one of nice memories.
Hope you are having a fabulous one:-)

onagI guess I picked the birthday post to write a little note about a conversation I had in St. Johns tonight.

We had passed Lady Bug Cafe, seeing for the fist time that it had closed. Well, by the time we arrived at legong, I was thinking of the Little Red Bike and how awesome it would be to have you there. Your vibe, your food, your youth would fit smartly in our little corner of North Portland. Is it on your mind? Can you go sign the lease tomorrow? We'd all stand outside and give you a big hooray and carry you on our shoulders to the farmers market. Or we would just be waiting in line upon your grand opening to savor your espresso or perhaps a salty caramel ice cream?

St. Johns is calling you.

OMG - I can't believe you are not open anymore. I am dying. Please come to St. Johns so I can have your corn meal pancakes again. And I don't have to walk so far.
