Batter Up...

So what if it's supposed to rain tomorrow? We don't f*cking care. It don't matter to The Little Red Bike Cafe.

Okay, so according to those so-called forecasters tomorrow looks like stormy weather. But alas, we told you we'd be churning ice cream so we're gonna do it, come rain or shine.

Tomorrow, September 4th, 2007 will be the inaugural opening of our soon-to-be infamous "bike-thru" window. We are planning on keeping normal business hours (7am-3pm) and then at the end of the day we will be locking the front door of the cafe only to open the bike-thru window. From this window we will be offering the always stellar Courier Coffee and espresso, Little Red Bike Cafe's first official batches of homemade ice cream, and my best bet is that you will be able to wrangle a couple of sandwiches off the menu from us too. Given that this is the commencement of the bike-thru window we really have no idea what to expect so as of now our "after-hours" hours will not be set. Accordingly, please be patient with us, please come down and check out the window for yourself, and please join us in saying , "to hell with the end of summer, I'm eating ice cream."

FYI:
*No, you don't have to be on a bike to use the "bike-thru." Though we'd really dig it if you did.

*The bike-thru window is covered by a large awning and our outdoor tables and chairs will be available for use so you won't have to get wet eating your ice cream.

*The two flavors picked for this special occasion? Oregon Marionberry Cheesecake & Chocolate Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip. Some of this week's projected flavors include: Courier coffee, Strawberry-Sour Cream, and Chocolate Malt Ball.

*The beginning of this posting does in fact refer to a Lebowski quote and should not be taken offense to despite its graphic nature.

P.S. Today was Tim's birthday and we would kindly appreciate if ya'll mentioned a happy birthday to this stand-up guy when you next see him. He works at the cafe Fridays and Sundays. Thanks!

Wow! That was quick. Talk about customer service!!
Now that we know where you are, we will be paying a visit soon (on our bikes, of course).

Annelise,
That was totally a "doh" moment when I read your comment. Of course we need to have that information on the blog. Thank you for stating the obvious. I think sometimes Ev and I forget that people are actually reading this thing and while we are tickled pink by the thought of that, it is also a hard concept to wrap our heads around. Thanks so much for reading, writing, etc. Can't wait to meet you!

Ali, you look crazy!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to sampling the ice cream and again wanted to say thanks for the birthday well-wishes and also the blog plug, it really made me feel special and I'm not just being facetious.

Shout out to Tim: met him at the Portland Farmer's Market and he's indeed a stand up kind of guy. Happy late birthday!

I'm getting out my bike in honor of getting some of that ice cream... I love watching how everything is coming together!
